Salesgirl: “Hello, Madam! Are you looking for dresses?….”

The Encounter
They had not met each other for some time.
Her heart ceased when she saw him crossing the road.
How many times she had rehearsed in front of the mirror, in the shower or in her daydreams what she should say and how she should behave when she saw him.
She had maken up all types of scenarios in her mind, all the dialogues and all the lines.
However, when the moment came, all those practices became meaningless.
She took a deep breath. With her professional PR smile, she stood on the other side of the road waiting for him to approach.
“Hi! How are you?”
“I’m fine. And you?”
“I’m good.”
Then, followed with the infinite silence.
She tried to hide the thunderstorm in her heart with her calm and polite smile.
All the questions she had in her mind, all the words she practiced during the shower and all the sentances she wanted to tell him were all stuck in the throat.
Suddenly, he took out his mobile phone and had a glimpse.
“Ehmmm…Well, I am sorry! I am in a hurried. I have to go. I am really sorry.”
“Ah..ahh…sure. It’s ok. Ehmmm…Bye!”
“Bye!”
She stood there looking at his vanishing back.
She forgot to breathe.
“…that’s it….”, she murmured
It was the shallowest conversation they ever had since the first time they had met each other.
The coldness of the conversation made her shiver.
He used to mean a lot to her but now….only the apathetic dialogue left.
Was this so-called the cruelty of human relationship?
